BIG CONGRATS to Giovanny Soto from Brock Hurt's B96 team! He was one of the six Seattle finalists, whose personal stories were featured on República Deportiva this past Sunday. He fought his way past more than 400 competitors in an open try...out to earn a week-long trial with the Seattle Sounders FC Academy and a trip to the “Final Event” (Sueño MLS 2012 – presented by Allstate) in S.California. Here they will be joined by the FC Dallas finalists announced last week and Chivas USA finalists yet to be selected.

Wenatche Fire 96 boys make it to Challenge Cup Finals!
Congratulations to the Wenatchee Fire Boys 96-Hurt for making it to the finals of the the State Challenge Cup.  They won their 3 preliminary games and quarterfinal game.  Following a decisive win in the semi-finals against Washington Premier 6-2, Wenatchee Fire had a tough match against a tough opponent in Mercer Isand United.  Wenatchee had split with them and tied them in the past 4 meetings, and the final was intense.  Getting down early in the first half, Wenatchee clawed its way back and but fell short 1-2.  The Fire is SO proud of these boys, who had a great run at the title. We look forward to many more good things from these boys!

G98 Fire wins Sun Cup!
by KM posted 09/28/2011

Congratulations to the G98 Black team for winning the 2011 Sun Cup. They won their first game convincingly 6-0 against Seattle United with goals by Shania (2), Chantel (2), Skylar, and Taz (her first!). The second game was against the very physical Othello Cobras, but the girls did well, winning 4-1 with goals by Kat, Shania (2), and Kara. In their last round-robin game they beat the G99 Fire White team 5-0 with goals by Kat, Kara (2),Shania , and Tayler M. Onto the semi-finals, they beat the G98 Fire White team 5-0 with goals by Shania (2),Megan, Molly and Lydia (her first). The girls were a little apprehensive to have to face the Othello Cobras again in the finals, but played well in another physical game, coming away with a 2-1 Championship win, and making it exciting by breaking a 1-1 tie in the 58th minute to avoid OT. Goals by Chantel (on a header, the first for the team!) and Tayler D.

Wenatchee Fire Girls 99 took 2nd place in the Federal Way Blastoff tournament. It was an awesome tournament. Our first game was definitely enjoyable we ended with a tie score, 2-2. Second game was a even more exciting, 4-2. Even though the score does not reflect it, our third game was a bruiser winning it 2-0. We went to the finals and our girls fought hard but ended up losing 0-1. It was a our most difficult defeat to date. All in all much was learned and more importantly everyone had loads of fun on and off the field.

by JH posted 07/27/2011

Wenatchee Fire Girls '99 Black headed to the Crossfire Select Tournament the weekend of July 22-24.  There we met up with a variety of Select and Premier teams, playing a total of four fantastic games.  First off we fought CB United to a 3-0 victory on Friday evening to begin the tournament.  This was followed Saturday afternoon by a shot against Crossfire Select (McLaughlin) that ended in a 0-0 tie.  Saturday evening we played BYSC for a 4-0 victory, putting us into the finals.  Sunday morning we faced Crossfire Select (Mallalieu) in the finals for a game ending in a 0-0 tie.  Within the first 5 minute overtime, we were able to put in a goal to clinch the 1-0 win and the title for the tournament.  Offensively and defensively we put together some stellar soccer and Bethany K. held us for a shutout for the entire tournament.  Great job Fire '99 Black!

Girls 00- Kolde wins 1st place at Crossfire Select Tournament!
Congratulations to the Wenatchee Fire FC G00 Black for winning the Crossfire Select Cup Tournament in Redmond July 22-24.  A relentless and effective offensive effort and a stingy defense allowing only one goal scored in four matches were the keys in landing the ladies in the championship match on Sunday.  The championship match pitted Wenatchee Fire FC against Bainbridge Island FC.  Wenatchee scored first early in the first period of what evolved into a pitched and very physical battle throughout the game with Wenatchee scoring again just before the half.  The ladies were on Fire as they went on to ice the match and bring home the gold with three more unanswered goals in the second period.   GO FIRE!

Wenatchee Fire 95 make it to Challenge Cup Finals!

Congratulations to the Wenatchee Fire FC B95-Black for making it to the
finals at the Starfire Sport Complex in Tukwila. The Wenatchee Fire FC was
behind in the first half but on the second half of the regular time,
Gerardo scored on a rebound of a corner kick. On the first half of
overtime, Gerardo surprised Eastside FC again by dribbling through defense
and scored the second goal. Eastside FC scored a second on the last
minutes of the second overtime. Wenatchee Fire FC dominated the game, but
failed to score the penalty kicks. I am proud and feel optimistic about
the future of our team. We are looking forward to the opportunity to
participate on the State Cup Tournament next year. Thanks to all the
players, parents and staff for a great season!
